So last week I ran for student body vice president and it was such a reality check for me. I Thought that I would for sure win because the guy who was running against me was a American guy and like 75 percent of the students here are Vietnamese. Well not only did I lose, but I lost badly!
I was rather shock and hurt at the result. I felt sad that my fellow brothers and sisters(literally "sisters" haha) didn't vote for me. I had to take a hard look at myself and reflect on myself so see why they didn't vote for me. I will have to admit that the guy running against me was a better candidate and he really deserve to win.
As many of you guys know, I am a pretty blunt person. I tell it as is, no sugar coding or censoring. I don't think my bluntness paints such a pretty picture for me to other people. I have notice a lot living here that people really misunderstands my intention when I say certain things. I always have the attitude of not caring what people think about me, but I think I really should work on my image more and how I present myself to other people.
I really have to say thank you to Catherine and Hugo for talking to me and giving me such great advice on this. You guys really made me feel better =].

Dating sucks. Unwarranted advice from friends and family make things worse.
They mean well. But they often get the whole “empathy” thing wrong. Years
