"Before you ask God for what you want, first thank God for what you have." I found this image and quote on facebook today and I reflect on it a little bit and I just had to blog about it. This year I find myself thanking God way more then asking him for stuff. This semester at school is so much more better then last semester that it is almost unbelievable to me. I had the most amazing summer, my last week in California was feel with love from my friends showing how much they care for me. I come to back to school with all these new students and I find myself with yet another great group of people.I remember the other day while I was stacking the cups in the dinning room (for my work-study) I was amaze of how many people came up to me and said hi and ask how I was doing. Coming from an abusive childhood I am almost overwhelm with the love I been experiencing this year. For once I actually feel" normal", I feel like I belong to a "click" I am not an outsider looking in but I am part of something. I will never get use to people complimenting me and spending hours talking and hanging out with me. I was checking how much money I had left in my bank account and I was shock of how little I have left. As much as I am unhappy of how much I have left, I am so happy and grateful for all the good times I had this semester going out with the guys celebrating birthdays and just random fun out in the town.
During the silent retreat I went on during the Thanksgiving break, I spend most of the time smiling and thanking God for all the great people he have brought to my life. There were little of me asking him for stuff, most of the things I prayed for were for other people and their prayer request. I honestly can't remember the last time that I been this happy for this long.
