Friendship Love

I was talking to a friend online today and I was saying bye to him and he said I love you to me and it gave me a really nice warm feeling inside. He was once my best friend and then we drifted apart and now we are friends again. We are not as close as we use to be but the love is still there. I am for one not afraid to tell my guy friends that I love them. I often end my conversations on the phone with Hugo with " I love you Ban" or with Martin " I love you bro". When I say that I love my friends, I really do mean it with all my heart. I truly love and treasure the close bond I have with my friends to the point that I am comfortable enough to tell them I love them and have them say it back to me. Growing up in an Asian family and the environment I was in, you can imagine that I don't hear the words "I love you" being said to me very much.

It saddens me that I hardly see people value friendship like the way I do. To me friendship love is just as beautiful as a love between a man and a women. People often ask me if I'm gonna get lonely becoming a priest and I truly believe that if I continue to have the friends I have now, I don't need to get marry. It also makes it a heck easier for me since I never had a girl friend, so I don't know what I'm missing out on.
